By God, we have our first black President-elect. That shouldn't be his most dominant attribute, however. This is the man with the promise of hope for all Americans. I couldn't be prouder right now. I have hope again. He has some incredibly high standards to meet, but I believe with our help, he will meet them. It's time to unify the country. It's time to change, all of us. I have thought of how it is that I can change, and I've come up with very few ideas so far. What I have come up with is this:
-Finish the book I started, or restart it and take it to completion. It's a pretty big undertaking, but it's something I feel I have to do for a number of reasons. It may never get published, but I'll never know that for sure if I don't try.
-Continue on my path of physical well-being, but embark on a new path of spiritual, emotional, and psychological well-being. It's the least I can do. I know that things suck right now on a number of levels, but it's time to rebuild myself internally and that way, I'll be better equipped to deal with the outer elements.
Like I said, it's an incredibly short list, but a great jumping off point. Unlike this monumental cornerstone of a Presidency, I will not wait until January of next year. This has to be started as soon as possible. Who knows what could be in store....

Except everyone continues to define him as America's first black president. Personally, I don't care what color he is. He could be green and I still wouldn't vote for him.
I have to wonder though, if having a black president was so important to his supporters, where were they when Alan Keys ran 8 years ago? He would have been a better president than Bush, that's for sure.
